1/15/10 - There is a lie! A blatant dangerous lie. The lies of the young are to be tolerated, sometimes even smiled at. But the lies of corrupt old men, they have the smell of blood on them and they can kill. Old men declare war. Young men fight them.

A friend of mine is a multi-billionnaire. He made a lot of his money in oil. I was telling him about some of the breakthroughs in solar and how it was now cost effective. And his answer was not that the new concept of solar hydrogen didn't work, but that there was no money in it.

I really had to think long and hard on his answer and then it came to me that what he meant was that there was no money in it for him in the long run. And he was right. He is my friend and I love him. I know him to be a seeking human being who can be utterly ruthless when it comes to business but totally devoted to his family.

He was once bragging to me how he beat out a lot of other oil companies and got the lease rights to drill in the pristine wilderness areas that were supposed to be protected. He bribed a few of the Indian elders who were corrupt.

What is wrong with this picture? Here is an off-shore oil well. It is tapping in to oil deposits that are hundreds of feet beneath the sea. It then has to be either piped or shipped to an onshore refinery and then through elaborate expensive processes it is refined into gas. Which is most definitely an obsolete technology.

Here is the lie. They say that it is cheaper and more cost effective to process this oil from the bottom of the sea, than it is to get energy out of the water itself through splitting the water molecule into oxygen and hydrogen. The oil well is sitting on a sea of hydrogen! Hydrogen is one of the most perfect and sustainable fuels on the planet. What they really mean is that there is no way for them to make their current profit levels off of solar hydrogen becaue the technology is so simple that everyone could in fact turn their house into a hydrogen energy producing plant.

If you are reading this then it means that you are probably a part of our newsgroup, The Daily Raw Inspiration. This group is twenty thousand strong. That may not seem like much but it actually represents a huge amount of power. And this is why we are issuing a call to action. A few years ago I saw a news article in the LA Times celebrating a $10,000,000 grant for research in the green sector. A lot of corporate leaders and politicians were smiling and shaking hands. That ten million dollar research grant was for the whole year. It represented what the oil companies make in ten minutes at the gas pumps in Los Angeles alone. We are voting them in to power every time they we put gas in to our cars. We now need to vote with our dollars for ourselves and the future of our children.

About a year and a half ago we came up with a concept for a raw vegan village. This concept is more than just a green housing development. It represents a lot of leading-edge paradigms coming together in a working model for how people can live together, work together, grow their own food, live in green homes, and run their community completely from solar power.

We sold out the first village in just under two weeks! We also generated a waiting list of over three hundred people, and gained pledges of support from green real estate investors. Then the financial crisis hit and we saw all of our funding dry up overnight. It has taken a group effort to keep this project alive!

In this village, we aim to develop not only a new type of house, but a new type of housing economy. Instead of a thirty-year mortgage being paid to a corporation, a small group of people, in this case 20 families come together and form a corporation and that corporation then owns the land and also creates a business that generates the financing and creates jobs for the people living in that village. So in effect the moneys that you pay toward your house become shares that in turn pay your mortgage.

In the case of the raw vegan village the three businesses that the village is centered around are a raw vegan retreat, an online publishing company and a Green Building Firm. The publishing company now generates an income of around $200,000 a year with very little marketing. The retreat is designed to bring in about $2,000,000 a year which is more than enough to cover yearly costs of the village. And the Green Building Firm has brought together some really talented and experienced innovators in green building, with a bright future ahead as the world continues its complete shift to green living.

This village will be powered by solar hydrogen. It will have its own orchards, gardens, and school. It is a prototype for how we can value the person instead of the bottom line. If we can make this village work here then we can build it over and over again.

So many good people have been downsized and lost their homes that we now have the opportunity to create a system that is not based upon how much can be squeezed out of a person but instead how we can value each person's unique gifts and support their inner potential.

We have therefore created a $10 store or boutique. We are calling it YourStore. As we grow this store we will be adding new artists and musicians whose work you can either download or have shipped. If everybody in this newsgroup bought something for $10 a week we could totally fund not only this village but many others. This $10 represents what most of us spend at the gas pump every other day.

We are not asking for donations. What we want you to do is go to the store and if you hear a song you like download it for $2. One dollar goes to the artist and the other goes to funding the village. Over time this with your help will not only finance the village, it will help support artists who are here to create and to support the very best in us.
