Storm's Web Log - Raw Vegan Forever

Blogdate 7/21/06

I had an amazing epiphany. I think that I'm just coming to a real awareness of what the Raw Vegan Diet is. It really did not matter that much to me in my twenties. I felt fine but everyone around me felt pretty good also for the most part. I kind of coasted through my thirties with no real awareness or connection between the Raw Vegan Diet and my over all health. My forties were pretty much the same I just felt really good, but for the most part I was focused on my art career. It wasn't until I hit my middle fifties that I began to realized that something really strange was happening. I became a Raw Vegan in 1972 and after my initial excitement the novelty wore off and because I was catching so much heat from everyone around me I just stopped not only talking about it but even thinking about it. I just mainly did it out of habit.

Now that I'm in my 57th year I'm really starting to think that maybe this Raw Vegan Diet might be the fountain of youth. Scientists will tell you that there is no scientific basis regarding any of the claims made by Raw Vegans and in a way they may be right. But in order for them to do long term testing if the Raw Vegan Diet is valid or not it would take anywhere from 50 to 100 years of testing groups of people and animals. In short all of us would be dead before the verdict was in.

So we are never going to have scientific facts in the classical sense of the term to validate the long term effects of the Raw Vegan Diet. I have been doing this diet for 34 years but I'm sure that there are people out there who have been doing it longer. A lot of people are very private and underground with the Raw Vegan Diet. After a while you just get tired of fighting a constant battle with the people closest to you. So you just go into the closet. I know that is what I did until Jinjee kind of pulled me out.

I think that the Raw Vegan Diet works for all different age groups, but I think that it works really well for people over 40. I don't think that there is really that much difference between being twenty and being 40 if you are eating right and exercising correctly. I'm basing this on my own experiences since I really don't have a whole lot to go on as far as scientific facts.

I think that what happens is that when we reach the age of lets say 40 and we just have an average diet - we collect a lot of un-eliminated waste material that turns into celluloid fatty deposits. And we also incur a host of other debilitating chronic conditions. But I truly believe that we are not suppose to reach the age of 40 or 50 and then start to rot from the inside out.

I think that the Raw Vegan Diet is a system of eating that addresses a lot of different conditions without our even knowing that it is taking place. I know that I didn't notice. I don't think that we really notice good health. It is only when we get really sick that we start to realize the wealth of good health.

So the recurring question that kept haunting me over and over again was "Where do we go from here". Jinjee and I had made the documentary "Breakthrough". But it was not a movie for everyone. We did it at a time when people's kids where being taken away because they were doing the Raw Vegan Diet so we wanted to address a lot of the issues that were what I call Issues of Our Time. We wanted to create a movie that showed beyond a doubt that The Raw Vegan Diet worked not only for long term raw vegans like myself but also for new born babies. And even though we covered a lot of points in the film I felt after making it that we had only uncovered the tip of the iceberg.

I think that it was at this point that we decided to create a TV Station type of internet site. Internet radio had been around for years but the technology had only recently reached a level that would allow for this type of global TV station.

We felt that if we had a TV Station type of format then every time either we or someone else created a film of this nature then it could be instantly viewed around the world without having to try and find distributors etc...

And it was in the light of this epiphany that Natural Paradigms was born. And even though there are a host of websites streaming video in all different kinds of formats I like to think that we are the first to market with this Cable TV format. I think that this is a really powerful format to serve an underserved niche like The Raw Vegan Diet. It is our hope that you will support this Internet TV Station because it is all about the empowerment of the individual. It is our answer to the Tyrannical Media Mass Mind Control. I call it that because they have truly sold us down the river. They advertise foods loaded with known poisons that have and are taking a huge toll on our collective health. They are even doing direct marketing to kids of all different ages who have also taken a direct hit on their health to the point that one out of three is overweight.

So what if we created an actual TV Station with programming that was totally positive and it was aimed at giving the individual information in an entertaining format that would allow us to make better choices.

These are some of the concepts that we have come up with for the programs that will be available upon demand.

1. A men's corner. This will deal with the myths of the macho code as it relates to diet. The current concept being that real men eat steak and fruit is for sissies. Or if you just eat fruit you are a skinny weakling. I think that a lot of these myths were created by the meat and dairy industry.

We will deal with how Raw Organic Food can cure some forms of erectile dysfunction. We will also deal with raw vegan workouts that work really well for men in their forties and fifties.

2. We are in the process of creating an hour long drama that will be the first in a series. And it will encompass a lot of the concepts of the raw vegan diet in a story format much like the X-files or Lost. I think that a lot of our thinking is shaped by TV without our even knowing it and I think that if we can create shows with this type of programming then we will be able to reach a lot more people than if we just use the lecture format.

3. We are also going to create a sitcom. I think that there is a wealth of funny material in the Raw Vegan lifestyle and the way it relates to the rest of society. We are going to explore a lot of these differences in a humorous way. This will be a weekly half hour show.

4. We also have another channel called The Raw Vegan Channel. This channel will be devoted totally to Raw Vegan themes. We have already put up the first show and will upload one a week. The first series is based upon a half hour cooking show that shows how to create totally fresh raw vegan meals that are also totally balanced. This is very important for people who are going 100 percent raw and want to do it as a family but who aren't quite sure how to shop for and prepare raw vegan foods.

5. Also to work hand in hand with the cooking show is a series of exercises that are designed to compliment the raw vegan diet. These low impact exercises work really well for people over 40. A lot of the exercises were designed by me for the retreats that we have been putting on for the last five years. It is our hope that by watching these two shows the individual will come away with a working blueprint of how to create a balanced program that will lead to greater health and well being.

6. We are also in the process of creating music videos that embrace the natural way of living and relating to earth in a more harmonious way. I think that the music we listen to has a lot to do with our overall stress levels. Not only will you be able to view the music videos you you can also download MP3 files and burn them onto a CD. So in effect we become an MTV type of station as well as a music distributor. When we sent out a letter inviting musicians to be a part of this project we received an overwhelming response. So we now have that part of the site under construction and it should be uploaded next week with content.

When Jinjee created the Newsletter "The Daily Raw Inspiration" over 5 years ago we never dreamed that it would have such a diverse group of international people from so many walks of life. We now have over 10,000 people in this newsgroup. Over the years we have come to communicate with a lot of the people in the newsgroup and some of you have come to our retreats. It is our hope that many of you will not only be viewers but also participants. We totally support home businesses, virtual employment, networking online etc... These are all things that we can totally support through a station like this. We are really going to need artists, actors, musicians, producers, etc...

Here is a beautiful testimonial that came in today after just releasing our first uncooking show "Raw Vegan Kitchen" yesterday! From Holland! The idea of getting up, making a movie, uploading it, and then having someone send you feedback the next day is a little overwhelming to me!

Hi Jinjee and Storm,

I just watched your first tv show on the Raw diet and the making of taco's. I really really liked it, my husband Paul and I are trying out the raw diet (for 2 months now) but are afraid to go completely raw in case of missing out on nutrients.

I really want to eat good, I'm so happy there's actually your show now which tells about combining foods and what an adult male or female needs a day (and kids of course) when eating raw.

Your show is relaxing to watch and has a nice homey feel to it. I like that you don't dehydrate, soak, sprout etc. like so many others seem to do (I'm Dutch and translating all that stuff in books on sprouting and so on makes it really complicated). Please make more shows like this! After watching your show I do feel more relaxed now on eating raw and not missing out on vitamins etc. Maybe the raw food diehards will allready know about all of this, but for the raw food freshman it's really important stuff.

Storm has a nice, clear voice and is easy to follow, even for me for whom english is a foreign language.

One question though; the taco's looked so good, but young coconuts (never seen one before in my life) is something you absolutely can't buy overhere. Is there an alternative we could use?

I'm happy I subscribed to your tv website, looking forward to more or in Dutch 'ik kijk uit naar meer',

Yanthe

Dear Yanthe,

Thank you so much for the feedback!!!

You can buy young coconuts from any Asian Market. They should have some in Amsterdam. Also you can order from http://www.Orkos.com in Germany -they ship all over Europe.

Yours,

Jinjee and Storm
